THE AWAKENING (RoS/Braveheart)
By Caitlin Morag Erin Morrigan McRory MacGregor Healey O'Donovan.

Surrounded by her beloved friends at the majestic stone circle of Rhiannon's Wheel, Marion lies in Robin of Loxley's arms, dead from a crossbow wound. Pagan shaman (tm) and Native Healer (tm) Herne the Hunter summons the power latent in the stones (c) -- and Rhiannon's Wheel begins to spin. As the Wheel turns, a portal in time opens -- and Robin is torn away from his wife and friends. Blown through time and space like a leaf on the wind, Robin is catapulted forward in time a century or so to a Scotland bleeding beneath the boot-heel of the barbarous English -- and a meeting with a hero greater even than himself: William Wallace. Under Wallace's benevolent tutelage, Loxley learns many things, including the fact that he must expunge himself of the attraction he feels towards the handsome Scot because, as Wallace teaches him, there are no homosexuals in Scotland: only the depraved English are effete enough to have queers amongst its population. Loxley slowly becomes aware of his true Celtic-Gaelic heritage until finally he joins Wallace's cause as Wallace teaches him more about ethnic hairdressing, the correct application of blue eye-shadow, and that the only *true* battle between Light and Darkness is that for Scottish freedom from a perverted, decadent and uncivilized England and its ignorant, spiritually dead and morally bankrupt people.

DESERT STORM (RoS)
By A Rabbstrap. (Actually, this has a certain appeal...)

With Marion lost to him in Halstead, Robert's grief knows no bounds. The only member of his band who seems able to reach him in the limitless depths of his misery is the silent Saracen, Nasir. Though the dark-eyed warrior hides his emotions well, his enigmatic exterior conceals more than mere concern for the well-being of his leader. Beneath the studded black leather his heart beats with a wild, untamed longing for his blond forest lord. As Nasir learns more about Robert and coaxes him back from the abyss, can he also teach Robert to unleash the fierce hidden passion which Nasir knows matches his own?

CELTIC MIST (RoS)
By Gypsy Moonbeam Rainbow Star Cat O'Rahilly O'Riley Jones McMichael MacStrathairn Shufflebotham.

In which every single RoS character ever (including Isabella of Angouleme, Queen Hadwise, Bertrand de Nivelles and even Nasir Malik Kamal Inal Ibrahin Shams ad Duala Watthab ibn Mahmood is discovered to be a Celt or Gael whose families and villages have remained free of Saxon/other influence in Celtic enclaves apparently hitherto unknown -- and everyone is left wondering why they should give a toss about this English shit anyway. -- What do you mean, that *is* RoS fanfic?

*CELTIC MIST may not be slash, but it's amazing how much more acceptable this kind of nonsense is in some quarters of RoS fandom than lonely outlaws seeking comfort from each other... :-}

BIG HUNKA CHUNKY LEURVE   (The X-Files)
by Bon-Bon Cuddles O'Reilly

In which loveable lunk Walter "Steady Eddie" Skinner exchanges Big Hugs and bags of candy with winsome Fox Mulder, the cute but vulnerable FBI agent in constant need of the strong arms, broad shoulders and rock-hard masculinity of his macho boss to lean on whenever he gets spooked and scared which is surprisingly often. There are diapers, pre-sex enemas and ickiness ahoy in this wonderful, gloriously romantic tale of extreme h/c.

"Made me wanna poke" -- Big Willy Fotherington-Thynne (At least we *think* the word was "poke"...)

CARRY ON, HORATIO! or HELL-EAU SAILOR! by Hugh Matron Hornblower

A bemused Captain Pellew agrees, and the Indy sets sail for England. During the voyage, the incorrigible Humphrey works his charms on all and sundry -- and before long, helpful Humphrey has placed himself in the service of his fellow sailors and is working his passage with the Indy's crew..

CLAWS UNSHEATHED by Dilly Tanty (The X-Files)

Mulder didn't know it, but Scully's apparently instant loathing of his ex-lover Phoebe Green had less to do with competition for *his* attention than with a hitherto unknown love affair between the two women in his life which had ended rancorously...
